Skin and Work Balance

Skin and Work Balance

A balance between work and life is delicate. Taking care of lots of things at a time is challenging. The biggest problem I have heard from friends and myself is feeling tired as the day passes, not having enough time to take care of myself, and skincare included. There are very few aspects you need to focus on self-skincare. Skin and work balance is so important!

Skin is the largest organ of the body, so we may think it requires a lot of care. However, you need to follow only a few simple steps:

  1. Hydration
  2. Nutrition
  3. Moisturizer
  4. Sleep

1) Hydration: It sounds straightforward, but the most difficult one since it has an impact on changes in day to day weather. How to quickly know if you are well hydrated? By the color of your urine- really! Yes, the color of urine should be very light yellow or white. If you achieve that, you are well hydrated! Use a natural moisturizer, cream, or lotion.

2) Nutrition: A well-balanced diet is not difficult to achieve. Choose green leafy vegetables for micronutrients, Vitamin C rich food (think of citrus, lemon), some probiotics in the form of yogurt, healthy snacks like carrots, and fewer simple carbs such as sugar and bread.

3) Moisturizer: It is a vast topic. Let us start with your shower gel/soap. Our skin is drier after a shower. The most important thing is to avoid a very long hot shower—detailed reasoning in my next post. Use a natural shower gel.

4) Sleep: Getting enough sleep for 7-8 hours does wonders, which is difficult during the initial years of motherhood. I used to make a note of the necessary task every day and try to stick to that. It would be best if you are not perfect with everything you do. I would say even if you achieve a portion of the task, you already succeed.
